WELCOME TO LANDSBERG AM LECH
Landsberg am Lech is a beautiful Bavarian town located on the famous romantic road, the Romanticische Straße, not far from Munich. It lies on the Lechfeld plain and is divided in two by the Bavarian river Lech, which forms a small waterfall right in the middle of the city. This picturesque location certainly contributes to its unique charm. On the right side of the river you can admire the beautiful old town, while on the other side is the more modern part of the city.
BEST PLACES TO VISIT
There are many unmissable sights to visit in this fabulous town, from which to be completely enraptured. Among these is the main square, Hauptplatz, where you will be captivated by the Rathaus (town hall), the Marienbrunnen fountain and the famous Schmalzturm. Also worth seeing are the Bayertor, at the entrance to the old town, the Mutterturm, on the left bank of the river Lech, and some fascinating churches scattered around Landsberg, among which we cannot fail to mention the Heilig-Kreuz church. Venturing into the town, you can then visit the castle, half-timbered houses and Gothic-style buildings. As well as the local prison, which became famous for Hitler's imprisonment, where he wrote 'Mein Kampf'.
